I purchased an ARB 704 18 months ago to key a 30L-1 amplifier using an Icom 756 Pro III. I hooked it up to 12 volts, plugged it into the transceiver and amplifier, and it worked fine from the outset. It has never failed to work as it should.

Never worked!

Is this a good product? Mine never worked? The second one never worked, either. Guess what? The Ameritron amplifier never worked. NEVER! No response. Do you know what I did wrong. I bought MFJ products! I purchased a Toyko Hy Power (750 watt version) and a generic interface from Associated Radio in Overland Park, KS, for about forty bucks, and guess what? IT ALL WORKS PERFECTLY. The MFJ 998 tuner didn't work except for the first few times. The second machine worked only once! The think the interface for this tuner had not been developed! Bought a Palstar AT AUTO (yes, expensive) and it works perfectly out of the box.

Works Great

I purchased the ARB-704 about 8 months ago to serve as an interface between my Yaesu FP-897D and my Ameritron AL-572. After a few minor cabling modifications the ARB-704 was found to work as it was intended. It is a great way to protect your radio from the load imposed on the radio by the amplifiers transmit relay.

Perfect protection between amp and radio.

I've used an ARB-704 for over a year, interfacing an FT-100D, a TS-450 and an IC-7000 to an AL-80B. With Ameritron's radio interface cables, interconnection was a snap. Perfect protection for your transceiver.

I use the ARB-704 between my MKV and ALS-600, and between my IC-706MKIIG and the ALS-600. Easy to set up and it works great. I modified my ARB-704 so it also interfaces with my MFJ-994B auto-tuner and takes my ALS-600 off-line when the auto-tuner starts tuning. Info in the "Equipment Modifications" section at www.ad5x.com.
