Only if its cheap

Err, horrible. It looks OK and now its been fixed it works OK.
But it had these defects;-
1. Neither variable capacitor tuning knob was correctly attached and would slip on the shaft. Only needed a grub screw tightening.
2. Worse still the band select switch melted as I applied a maximun of 5 watts from an FT817D on 80m into a full wave loop with a balun. Needed a new 12 way switch.
Defects dealt with and its now a good un. There is another version of this unit see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c6cOJ6etg8 but it seems that has issues too. http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/4771

Good tuner

Just received mine today. Purchased it used and it works flawlessly. Use it on my Van Gorden G5RV antenna. Using it with my new FT-450AT rig. Found the new built in tuner leaves something to be desired compared to the old FT-890AT or the TS-480SAT that I owned previously and this levels the playing field.

Great manual tuner, I use it with a vertical antenna that works on 10-15-20-40 and I can tune also 80-30-17-12 and even 6 meters!! The only recommendation is to tune with low power, max 10 watt.
