Recently upgraded from a 16-year-old TINY2 MK1 to the MK2 version, I was always happy with the original TINY2 but the MK2 version is just that bit better. There is now a switch on the back panel to switch from standard AX25V2 to WA8DED host mode. The commands have not changed much but have just increased in number. If you want a basic VHF TNC then you will not go very far wrong with the TINY2 MK2 and, depending on the version of firmware, you can easily use the TINY2 with a GPS and APRS software.
P.S. The same day I received my MK2 version the MK1 version died, I think it felt rejected !!
