Great for ham radio.

The Optimus Pro X5 speaker sounds great as a ham radio speaker. It sounds much better than my SP-8 for ssb and am. It is sensitive enough to be driven to high volume levels with the rig's audio amplifier. These were considered high quality mini bookshelf speakers in their time and usually can be found on Ebay for next to nothing. They are also attractive and compact speakers. For voice communications they have a great presence and fullness of the audio with good articulation. No boomy or tinny sound with it. Local broadcast AM on my Kenwood TS 850 with the bandwidth set to 12 khz is awesome. Compared to the RS or MFJ 4 inch speaker for communications, they are far superior. If you find some at reasonable price, be sure to give them a try.
