Great reliable signal source

Time owned: 6 to 12 months

This is a good reliable signal source, has an LED display and a CRANK on the front, and only goes to 110 MHz but it has a respectable output range, is very stable, and is very quiet - my 3314A puts a little "hash" in the background, but this is dead quiet other than its signal. I have found this very useful for putting a signal out to test a reciever, etc., no fancy-schmancy computer in there trying to do your thinking for you, everything is knobs and switches, easy to work with. It can put out square and triangle waves but I just use the sine wave output since I'm doing RF stuff, however, the other waveforms may be useful too. I don't think Agilent sells or supports these any more, but they're out there on the surplus market.
