Just wanted to my two cents to the many glowing reports about Jeff. I sent him a Drake TR7 and RV7 that had sat in a hot, dusty attic for 20 years or so. The rig still worked (kind of). I got the rig back from Jeff today, and all I can say is -- WOW! In additon to the insepetion, reallignment and minor repairs, it has been cleaned and refurbished and looks almost like a new rig. Sounds and works great too! I will definitely use Jeff in the future and highly recommend him to anyone needing work done on older Drake gear.

The glowing testimonies that you read here at eham.net for Jeff's services are the absolute truth. Others have already described his "going the extra mile" services. I'll just say that I sent him a very nice looking but under-performing TR-7 that I bought at a hamfest and I just received back one terrific radio for Christmas! It is now even more beautiful to look at and it delivers all of the performance that Drake designed into it.
Jeff knows these radios, his work is top-notch, his rates are very fair, and he is a terrific guy to talk to. I learned a ton about the TR-7 from talking with him on the phone.
If your Drake needs work, look no further. Highly, highly recommended! Thanks, Jeff!

Jeff WA8SAJ has repaired several pieces of my Drake gear. Besides fixing the problems, he goes the extra mile - realigning the radios, replacing pilot lamps, cleaning up displays, etc. Prompt service at a very fair price. I highly recommend Jeff for your radio repairs.

Great repair service

I recently bought a Drake T-4XC on ebay that was supposed to be in good operational condition, but was not. I sent it to Jeff, who repaired the PTO, replaced the finals, aligned it to factory specs, and performed other maintenance, all for a very reasonable price and in a timely manner. The transmitter now runs like new. I would never hesitate to refer repair work to Jeff.

great technician and gentleman

I sent Jeff a Drake TR7 with multiple problems,
not only did he repair the rig, but made it look
as if it were new, the man is truly a professional
and a gentleman, which is hard to find anywhere
these days, so I would just say if you have a problem with a vintage rig, Jeff is the man for
you to contact, reasonably priced, polite,
and professional. Thankyou Jeff

A TR-3, AC-4, and TR-4C all brought back to life.

I recently decided to activate a "Retro" station from the 60s when I had Drake equipment. I acquired a TR-3, an AC-4 and later a TR-4C. All had problems and I did not feel qualified to repair them myself.
After some research on eham I picked Jeff to do my repairs and restoration. "Story Short". The equipment came back working great, very fast turn around and a fair price. When and If I ever need work again. Jeff is the only one I will consider. He really deserves the rating he has earned..... Craig KE9IY.

Refurbish KWM-2A and 312B-5
|

Having used Jeff to repair a Drake TR-6,and meeting him at Dayton 2009, I sent my Collins KWM-2A and 312B-5 VFO to him for repair,alignment,clean up, etc. I got the same great service and knowledge of this type of equipment that I expected.Both pieces look and perform great.Receiver is hot as a "firecracker".Turnaround time and cost in line with work performed, very satisfied with Jeff's work.He will be my "go to" guy for all my Drake and Collins repair in the future.
