| Reviews Summary for Array Solutions Powermaster |

Reviews: 175

Average rating: 5.0/5

MSRP: $400.00

Description: 5% accuracy, temperature and frequency compensated, 1.8-54 MHz, peak-hold modes, bargraph display of power and SWR for easy antenna system matching, PC programmable via RS232, more.
I use two of these meters in my own station, no suprises there for sure, they are great! But we're adding features you may want to know about. The accuracy is NOW 3% with our HP equipment technique which calibrates out more uncertainty. The coupler heads are interchangeable from HF to uWaves with the new LITE 3.0, and all instruments in the field will be upgradable to a new feature, the COUPLER SCANNER. It will automatically scan multiple couplers for you. Pretty cool stuff. AND more features to come.

Nice Meter
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
|
Purchased the Powermaster on the recommendation of fellow hams and was not disappointed. Unit was shipped promptly by Array Solutions, was easy to install, and works great in my shack. Ability to have computer work with the meter is a nice plus. Looking forward to installing any new firmware as it is made available.

Excellent!

I have owned the Powermaster for two months now. It replaced an Autek WM-1 which was adequate, but I lacked confidence in its measurements. The function and features of the Powermaster are exactly as advertised. I have owned other SWR/power meters, such as the Bird 43, and find the Powermaster superior. Getting a Bird calibrated was a real pain in the ear. I do not have the resources to calibrate or recalibrate a power meter, so I am really happy with the certified calibration of the Powermaster's sensor. I also really like the instant detection feature that allows one to see output power and SWR with a short string of CW dits. The Lite computer interface works well. If I were to need another SWR/powermeter, it will be a Powermaster. I strongly recommend it. It is well worth the price.

Excellent SWR & Power Meter
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
|
I guess I can add to the list of satisfied customers with the Powermaster. I own two units - one for my VHF/UHF satellite & EME station, and the other for my HF station. Both units have performed flawlessly for several years now. I really like the SWR & power limits trip functions for safing my equipment - nice automated protection against unexpected problem conditions that can arise. One request is for an updated Mac OSX firmware load utility on par with the Windows version.

Wonderful product!

This is a great product. After only one week of use, I ordered a second one for my other station. I ran the two copies in series for a while to see how they tracked (very close).
The features in this device are amazing and far exceed anything else in anything close to the price range.
For some purposes analog devices are better, but I have grown much attached to the instantaneous digital indication of power out and SWR. I have found using this device makes it much easier for me to keep my station running properly.

supper piece of equipment

Being a Radio Operator in the Marine Corp and being a ham for almost 25 years and owning just about everything out there, I think i can say this is one of the finest piece of equipment that i have ever purchased. The flexibility that it gives you for your station install and the options on the item itself are incredible. If your looking for a very nice meter that has all the features and more, you do not have to look any further.

The Best SWR Meter On The Market
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
I do not like giving a review until I have used a product for a good period of time. I have had this Array Solutions Powermaster for 2 years now and without a doubt this is the best Meter I have ever used. The features are to many to mention so I will just say forget every SWR Meter you have ever used and buy this Powermaster. I can not see how anyone could build a better meter.

Top Notch!!!

What a meter!! I don't know how else to start this review other than giving it an A+++++++++. I have had the Powermaster for about 4 months for my VHF station with my Tokyo Hy-Power amp and M2 antenna array. I see things with this meter that I've never seen on any other meter. This meter is fast enough to catch the VSWR spikes before all my relays in the system close, they close fast too, but the Powermaster shows the brief spike. I also run the software with the meter and use it to monitor my output and swr when I'm operating remote station via the internet. I see everything as if I was at home and able to keep close tabs on my amp output this way. The accuracy is also excellent, I'm able to drive my amps with the proper amount of drive that other meters in the past didn't show me. Also, Jay and Bob at Array Solutions are #1 in customer service, they go out of their way to help. I have never dealt with a company quite like this one, they do go the extra mile! If your on the fence about buying one of these meters and came to this site to check reviews, take my word that they are worth the money and you won't be disappointed! Feel free to email me with any questions you might have before buying one. I just purchased one for my HF systems, can't wait to see how it does there. 73 de Chad-N0YK

Fantastic!!!

I have been looking at one of these for years and just FINALLY bought one with duel couplers. I am very pleased. The swr and power alarms are great. When you hit the preset alarm while transmitting, a bright light pops on and you can have it to reset in off/5/10/20 seconds. The display has 4 brightness intensity which is great. The auto range bargraph for power is a outstanding. No more switching back and forth. The callsign text and also neat. When in idle, your text that you programmed show up. It's very easy to use. This meter is so nice i had to show a friend of mine which he is in his 70's. When I showed him this meter on the internet he said he would never own one. He said he has had a digital meter before and it was pure junk. He's a true believer in analog meters. At the time the eham reviews was 163/5.0 and explained to him if this meter was junk why does it have so many good reviews. He still said he would never own one.......2 moths later I bought one and took it over to his house, hooked it up and he said it sure was a nice meter but he couldn't afford one. 2 days later I walk into his shack, he told me to sit at his computer and asked me to look at the computer screen. He had the powermaster up on the screen and asked me if this is all he needed...lol, lol....he then handed me his credit card and had me ordered one for him...lol. This meter is very nice. Meter and one coupler is less than $500 shipped in US. Seems alot but it sure does make things easier for you and you will NOT be disappointed. I can't wait to get one for my mobile operation. Hope you have fun with this one.

Reliable and accurate
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

Prior to owning the PowerMaster I went though a few VSWR/Power meters. Looking in the junk box is a Autek WM-1, Diamond 100, Daiwa, a couple of MFJ's and a Palomar LED display - others I just trashed. When they were new they worked for a while then I hit them with too much power or they just quit working after a while.
Now for over 2 years I have been very pleased with the PowerMaster. It is of commercial build and very accurate with a well made remote sensor and display head. I also like not having to turn the meter on and off or worrying about damage with the meter in a Low setting mode.
I've found the hard way that you end up getting what you pay for and there are no short cuts or cheap bargains when it comes to VSWR power reading meters. Very satisfied and would buy another PowerMaster.
