Description: Are you a Ham who has DX-expiditions on remote sites or Islands? Are you a Shortwave DX'ER who likes to go to the mountains, Beaches, Lakes, and get away from the city noise that you hear?Want a Antenna that weighs less than 3 lbs? No longer than 46" When not in use? Can be set up by one person in less than 5 minutes? Tired of getting to a location and having to raise and lower the antenna to tune it? Having problems erecting the antenna because of thick trees, vegitation or not having any tree or tall object to attach to? Want some type of antenna that won't take up any room or space? an antenna that works on shortwave that you don't have to tune? An antenna that won't have to have GUY Lines?

great antenna great price  Time owned: months
was looking for an efficient and portable antenna for my ft817nd. after reviewing the lit. most of the antennas are way too short to be efficient especially with low power. i dont care how neat or portable some of these antennas are-big antennas outperform small ones. the dx-1 extends to 20 feet and the length of the slinky radiator is over 60 feet. you must use a tuner with this antenna, i use a mfj 16010, as it is a random length vertical. its a neat package ,easy to set up and carry. i compared it to my gap and they are virtuall identical in performance and a lot cheaper. it could even be used as a very good home station antenna. ralph n. w9lkj
