Outstanding in every aspect!  Time owned: months
I highly recommend the Diamond Ridge Cottage to any visitor to Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. The accommodations are tremendous—a very spacious 3 BR/2BA detached home with all the amenities to make your stay most comfortable and enjoyable. The home is located atop a 1200 ft ridge overlooking Homer, Alaska and the Kachemak Bay—an incredible view for sightseeing, a very convenient location to access multiple activities/venues, and a perfect location for a highly-effective antenna farm. Owners Dave (AL7DB) and XYL Eileen were sensational at every level—from initial visit coordination, through running a compatible power cord for an amplifier, to providing cribs for our young boys. Ham operating in Alaska has some unique challenges, but this station leverages its premier location atop Diamond Ridge to provide significant worldwide DX year-round. As a testament to the station’s capabilities, over 1900 QSOs from 170+ countries were netted during CQWW SSB ’08, and 850 QSOs from all sections were worked during ARRL SS CW ’08. Whether a casual DXer or competitive contester, Dave has put together a formidable antenna package for his station, and has additional low band enhancements forthcoming. The city of Homer and the Kenai Peninsula are a must for Alaska visitors—winter or summer—and in my opinion, there is not a better value for affluent accommodations than Diamond Ridge Cottage if your objective is to explore the Kenai and/or operate from KL7.

Great way to DX in Alaska without bringing any gear!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I'm just concluding a 4 day stay here and it has been great. The house is beautiful, the view is spectacular and the station is great! Dave, AL7DB put together a simple, effective HF station (80-10m that offers some great DXing (I got here the day after a couple solar flares, as luck would have it. Still managed some good operating, though.).

If you're an active ham and have been comtemplating a trip to Alaska, this is THE place to stay! About 225 miles south of Anchorage on the southernmost end of the Kenai peninsula with a great view and you don't have to bring your gear!
