Dependable Portable HF  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
Found a very clean used unit with Selcal, built-in tuner, programming kit, mic, Otto headset, chargers, etc. and put it on the air. With the standard 25 watts and a SteppIR vertical, many easy contacts on 40 SSB, 20 SSB, and 17 SSB just as is, battery power. Great signal reports, great audio, no problems at all. Will be heading into the Canadian Bush with this rig in July to see how it works from the north country. Maybe another report then. Certainly beats the FT-817ND I had before! Tough, commercial grade HF rig. Check HFPACK for manuals, mods, SELCAL information, etc.
