Description: Super Duty Saddle Clamps are designed for applications where maximum torque is needed to control large or unbalanced antenna arrays or for other applications where other torque control products have proven inadequate. These Super Duty Saddle Clamps are made in sizes that fit the Outside Diameter of the aluminum and steel tubing used in antenna construction. The Saddles are cast with high-strength A356-T6 aluminum, which also has superior anti-corrosion properties, to grip the tubing securely.

Best saddle clamp made, bar none....period.

Standard "muffler clamps" and even DX engineering's "U bolt saddle clamps" can't compare to these SUPER duty saddle clamps. They come in ONLY 3 x size's....2"-2.5"-3" These will NOT slip on any mast! The reason is obvious. These have a HUGE surface area on BOTH halves of the clamp assy. BOTH halves of the assy use a TEXTURED finish on the inside, that bears down on the mast [or boom]. A pair of G-8 armour plated bolts + a 1/4" thick SS backing plate + nuts + washers complete the assy. I use 'marine grade never seize' [made by the loctite co], on the threads.
I make my own version of the infamous F-12 boom to mast double plates, using a 8" wide x 14" tall 6061-T6 plate [3/8" thick for BOTH plates] for the vertical plate..and either a 8" tall by 14"/17" wide plate for the horizontal plate. I then use THREE of these super duty saddle clamps to mount the vertical plate to the mast.[ 2 above the boom, and one below the boom]. just make sure the mast is clean, and free of debris+ grease etc..and ditto with the textured inner portion of the super duty saddle clamp.
You can also use them on a boom if you want, but DX engineering regular saddle clamps work just fine for that application.
I also use these super duty saddle clamps for MAST steps. My mast steps consist of 2" x 2" x 14" long angle aluminum. [1/4" thick-6061-T6]. I apply that 2" wide non skid stuff to both the horizontal and vertical surfaces, so neither my hands nor feet will slip, esp in the rain! 1/4-20 SS bolts and SS nylocks stick up at each end, so I can feel where the ends of the steps are..with my boots.
The 2" super duty mast clamp just happens to be 2" tall..and mates with the 2" x 2" angle steps perfectly. These will not rotate on their axis, nor slide down, nor twist.
I also use the 3" version of the super duty saddle clamp on the Horizontal plate, to mount the 3" BOOM of my F-12 340N yagi.
Standard muffler style clamps have zero surface area, regardless of whether 3/8" or even 1/2" U bolts are used. [they all have only 1/16" bearing down on the mast]. These super clamps have almost 340 degs of clamping area x 2" tall [for a 2" clamp, and even more vertical height on the larger 2.5 and 3" clamps]
I buy these super duty clamps by the case load....and so should you. The single plate set up, using muffler clamps is a pita to install. The double plate scheme, using DX eng super clamps is the real ticket, bullet proof.

These heavy duty element saddle clamps are just great - I have used them in various antenna projects, most recently a 20 meter rotatable dipole. They are just perfect for the job. Excellent and made design and installation quick and easy. I will be buying more of these for sure.

These saddle clamps are the solution to things slipping on the mast! The clamps do grip the mast (or boom), & their wrap-around design provide much greater surface area than the common muffler clamp style you often encounter.
I use & recommend them. They've made the difference between success & failure on such large antenna project as: 80M rotary dipoles, the MonstIR, 40M Yagis, & so on. They work~!
