Excellent Unit  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I aquired the Motorola GP-88 from a 41's and after i reprogrammed the unit i had a blast instantly... it can hit a repeater kms away from my place using the metal-hydride batt pack, tough unit almost like the GP-300 with better casing.. had a blast with 3 kinds of roger beep. tx & rx is excellent... although this unit is only available in southeast asia still has a lot of parts available & accessories..

i have a 16 channel GP-88 VHF, programmed ch16 to scan all freq, once in ch16 it scans ch1-15 fast! once the squelch opens u turn the channel & once u hear a beep stop turning the channel & thats the spot where the squelch opened.

overall a great handheld i'd recommend this unit to anyone who wants tough & no fuss handheld
