Nice Amp
|
Time owned: 6 to 12 months
|
This is a large 2m 12v solid state amp. Here in the UK they are rather rare and cost lots of money to buy new (£795 GBP approx $1410 USD!!). I think that a new B-1030-G is not good value for money, I certainly wouldn't buy one new!
With 10 watts of drive my amp produces 375 watts easily (confirmed with Bird meter and several other meters).
The amp runs very hot, and if used at full output external fans to aid cooling are essential.
I like the standard phono socket on the back of this amp that is used to key it, other solid state amps I've used use obscure connections.
I use a 60 amp linear PSU with this amp and 4 PC type fans on top of the amp that run constantly and find it a very nice package.
I get the impression that this amp will go on forever, but time will tell.
