there are good alternatives  Time owned: more than 12 months
A low / mid power version from Buxxcom, high power and low power versions from Buckmaster- or better yet a heavy duty 4:1 balun from Array Solutions or DX Engineering and 135 ft of wire with the balun at 1/3 from one end! They all do the same thing - they work great. The 6:1 balun provides a bit better match on the higher frequencies, but the 4:1 works best on 40/80.. I use 4:1 and it works great all bands.

Built to last  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Iíve had several dipoles over the years, but this one is buy far the best built. I purchased the 3KW version to replace an 80-10 meter Windom. This antenna is extremely well built. The 12 gage insulated wire, all connections contained in a sealed balun, and a weather protected coax connector make it an antenna that should stand up to about anything that the weather can throw at it. The SWR across the entire bands is great. From 1.2/1 to 2.1/1 with out a tuner even though mine is not completely in the clear. The center is at 38 feet and the ends at 20 feet. First contact was on 17 meters from Ohio to Portugal with a 59. Low noise and a great performer. I am looking forward to many years of excellent performance from this antenna.

BIG IMPROVEMENT over hard-drawn wire !!!!!!!!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Saw this advertised in QST - what caught my eye was the multi-strand PVC-covered FLEXIBLE wire. NO TRAPS, NO SOLDERING, BUT BEST OF ALL NO WIRE KINKING - top quality parts and construction. Antenna works as advertised - GREAT RESULTS on both receive and transmit. SOOOOOOO easy to put up and take down - this wire is great and will take all kinds of weather. It's worth every penny - I am so glad I bought this antenna. As soon as I got it I was so impressed I ordered another to use for Emergency Ops. Thank you, thank you, thank you Alpha Delta for a wonderful antenna that works great and is just as easy to handle.

Excellent  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Just put one up and it works. All bands are 2.2/1 or better with most around 1.2/1. I have at 40 ft and ends are 10ft up. Got great reports and signals. I put up hoping it would quieter than my R-8 and it is. I would recommend to anyone. Cost a few more dallors but you get what you pay for.
