Pretty good worldband radio for the price  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
The Sony ICF-7601 has been around since the 80's. They appear on ebay once in awhile, and I decided to bid for one several months ago. I got mine for $45.00 including shipping.

It runs on 4-AA batteries, and seems to last a long time on batteries.

AM--Average to good. No DX machine, but good enough for normal listening. Requires an adaptor plug to hear through both sides of your earphones. You can get the plug at Radio Shack.
FM--Ok, no stereo though.
SW--This is what I wanted the radio for. Off the whip, it performs well for what I paid for it. I think it has a rf pre-amp, as it's pretty sensitive and a long wire attached to the antenna over loads it often.

I like the analog tuning, but it doesn't have memory. It has quite good SW coverage, from around 2.5 MHz to 26.1 MHz, but with gaps in the spectrum. But I don't mind, as most of the SW stations I like to listen to are covered by the radio. Overall, a good radio for under $50.00.
