5+++ one-stop repair source  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
TS480SAT started drifting significantly (500 Hz) after 5 years of use. Sent to Mike, he repaired and returned in rapid fashion.

Instructions clear, expectations met, kept me informed throughout the process. Paid through Paypal (you can use your credit card if you don't have a Paypal account). Mike's rates are VERY reasonable, and he gets the work done quickly.

Considering this is my first experience with rig repair, and I referred heavily on eham.net reviews of Mike's work, it convinced me that he is the one for my business. I was not disappointed. I am a highly satisfied customer, and you will be also. Mike, you have earned my business for all rig repairs. Thank you, Sir!

ICOM 746 PRO  Time owned: more than 12 months
Had the no transmit issue on my 746 PRO. I contacted Mike, provided the serial number as asked. Mike replied that I had a later model and suggested that the problem probably was the FET (Q1) and the likely 4.7ohm resistor ( R3 on PA Board) needed to be replaced with a 10 OHM. Communication with Mike was excellent. Radio was repaired and back to me within a week. Fees were extremely reasonable in my opinion. I hope I never have to do business with him again but if the need arises will contact Mike in a heartbeat for repair services.

ICOM 735  Time owned: more than 12 months
Once again Mike has shown himself to be a fine professional.
Eight days from the time I shipped my back-up rig to him, it is back in the shack! Everything asked was completed, and once again, I am impressed with not only his ability, but his professionalism.

ICOM 746 PRO  Time owned: months
Awesome service! Contacted Mike when my 746 stopped transmitting. Mike asked me for the serial number and explained it was borderline in the upgrade area. He also offered a few scenarios on what the problem could be, and explained the whole process fully. His website was also a great help. I sent the rig at the time he requested, and Mike had it completed in two days. The problem turned out to be the pre-driver FET(Q1), and Mike also added the upgrades and a heat sink on the FET. I highly recommend Mike for stress free service.

Superb Service on my TS-870S  Time owned: more than 12 months
From my first e-mail with Mike until I received my Kenwood back repaired was only two weeks, and this included several days that Mike had it powered up on his bench after he changed out the two driver transistors. That was four months ago and everything works fine. The radio was returned without so much as a finger print on the case! Fantastic work and respect for my radio. I highly recommend Mike.

Quick & fair service!  Time owned: more than 12 months
In near 33 yrs in amateur radio I have never had to ship a rig off for repair until now. My 706G took a static hit and due to residual hand paralysis from an illness I'm unable to turn a screwdriver let alone work on a rig. Found Mike's website and read over just a few pages here on others experiences with Mike. All I saw was 5/5's. Good enough for me.
Mike repaired my radio quickly and his rates are fair. 11 days from my door and back again. Couldn't ask for any better.

ICOM 718  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Mike is a great guy and great Tech. He is always willing to dicuss the problem before you ship the redio. The email communication was fast and so was the service. He even checked out the rig to see if it was in specs at no extra charge. I will send all my ICOM equipment if I ever have a problem to N1EQ in the future.

Great Customer Service  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
756PROII with transmit problems - probably RF from another radio-amp in the shack. Mike repaired it quickly at a fair price. Same problem 2 months later - caused by my carelessness. Mike repaired again --just charging for parts. He then called to help me trouble shoot why it might have happened - giving me suggestions on how to prevent it. He is a one-of-a-kind, gem of a tech.

Excellent Work - Again!  Time owned: more than 12 months
Mike replaced the multi/ch encoder knob assembly on my Kenwood TS-2000X. Dropped if off at Staples for UPS pick up on Monday and the radio was back home on Friday, and at reasonable cost. He also repaired my Kenwood TM-255A multi-mode 2 meter radio with the same quick turn around and reasonable prices. He is the best! No wonder so many positive reviews!
