Reviews Summary for Grig
Reviews: 1 Average rating: 3.0/5 MSRP: $(missing—add MSRP)
Description: Grig (GNOME Rig) is a graphical user interface to the Ham Radio Control Libraries (version 1.2.0 or later), written using the Gtk+ widgets. In other words, this is rig control software for Linux. Part of the Ground Station software suite.
Product is in production.

To date, best of its kind in Linux  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
The software was designed to be a generic graphic rig control program, so it does not look like any specific rig. It uses the Hamlib control library which is a separate project. Working functions will vary according to which rig is being used and the amount of support for it in the Hamlib library. Mine is used with an Icom 761 and 751A. The only functions that I have are for changing the frequency, but that is what I do most, anyway. I would expect better functionality with newer rigs. It will run concurrently with other programs, such as Xlog, that are also accessing the rig via the CI-v bus. If you use Ham Radio Deluxe in MS Windows, you won't be impressed with grig. But if you run only Linux, then grig will probably work. Print the grig -man pages to get started. Setup was not intuitive for me, but typical of most Linux Applications.
