Even at $69 still not much of a deal!

Time owned: months

This thing works (sorta). Thats about all I can say about it.
Pros...
Still looking for one.
Cons...
1-No usable data while running with PC interface.
No good for packet.
2-Clunky almost usless software. Seems like an after thought.
3-Everytime you close software you have to convert back over from celcius to F.
4- No real time weather, updates aprox. every 128 seconds.
5-When running on PC you can't set the real time clock, it reverts to Jan,1 2006 12:00. You need to hook it up to TV to set it to set it. If you unglug it from Tv an move it to computer you loose your settings, so I guess you need a TV next to you PC.
6-Not very accurate. Miss's most wind gusts due to slow refresh.
7-Radio signal very weak needs to be very close to RCVR. Tried mine with a hardwire and it didn't work at all.
If this thing cost around $29 I might say it would be a fun toy to hook up to the TV. But other than that I would suggest saving your money!
I guess there was a good reason RadioShack had it on clearance!

I always wanted a weather station to compliment my radio hobby but it was a luxury I could never justify....until I saw one of these units on the shelf at Radio Shack on closeout for 69 bucks. I put it together easily, and set up easily. Like SWL said "grab one of these before they are gone" if you are a hobbyist on a budget. It certainly is not a high end station, but it is not a dog either. Good luck!

This thing SUCKS!

Wind updates every 128 seconds is no good to man nor beast! No screen capture or Internet upload either.
Just about usable as a school weather station.
Save your money and buy an Oregon Scientific model.
