Excellent  Time owned: more than 12 months
This is a sturdy "mans" handheld. It fits nicely in the hand or on the belt. Not like some of the flimsy little things that normal size fingers have problems with. I can't praise this handheld enough. I've used it many times, portable, mobile and as a base unit. BNC aerial connection is sensible. I know the ni-cad battery pack won't last forever, but i bought an empty battery pack to put 6 AA batteries in, problem solved. Love it, or have you picked up on that!

Near perfect  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
After working with this Icom for 2 months, I can only say: very nice hand held! Reception is perfect, modulation is great, output power is a generous 5.5 Watts. It's big, but I consider that to be an advantage - you can operate this Icom with your eyes closed.

I gave it 4 out of 5 for 2 reasons:
a) the battery is an outdated 600 mAH NiCD battery
b) programming the memories is a bit confusing.
