Compares favorably with previously owned Neumann TLM-103

I have tried several large diaphram condenser mics in the past (including the $900.00 Neumann TLM-103 and the $600.00 Nady NT-2A), all great mics to be sure, but the Audio-Technica model AT4040 at $299.00 is really hard to beat. This black beauty comes with a professional shock mount. The tonal quality is excellent and perfectly balanced and the cardiod pattern rejects a lot of the background noises in the shack.
