Broke the speaker jack of my Alinco DX77. Sent an email to order the part. They replied quickly offerring to send the part for free. They sent the part and it was lost in the sorting machines at the Post Office. Quick call and a second replacement was in the mail. These guys understand "service". Highly recommended.

Excellent service from Larry

I acquired a DX 70 and a DJ 180 T used. The HT was missing some minor parts - screws and rubber plug for mic/spkr holes, as well as the battery latch was broken. Phoned Ham Distributors, first day they were busy with a major delivery and was told someone would call back. They didn't so I called the next day and spoke to Larry. He mailed the parts to me in Canada via US mail at no charge. However the mail gremlins ate the battery latch. They must have been really hungry as not only was the envelope torn, but also the plastic bag in which the pieces had been 'vacuum' sealed. Anyway, called Larry again, he again mailed just the latch , in a small box in a bubble pack envelope. This never made it to Canada.( Must be something about those plastic latches!). Anyway realised a friend from Houston was coming here for a wedding, called Larry who mailed a bubble pack to Houston. Yes, I now have the latch installed and all is working well. Kudos to Larry for persevering, he could easily have turned me away. Such service deserves acknowledgement.
Anyone interested in the DX 70 but feels the pricepoint could come down should write Larry, as he is trying to lobby with the manufacturer to reduce the pricepoint. Probably the more support he has for this, the greater the chances of success. Then a simple HF rig will be within everyones reach, new.
A satisfied Alinco user
