I came across this site. They sell new replacement battey packs for many HT's and more products as well. They had one for my Standard C558A at a reasonable price of $22.50. Very well made, and I'm very pleased with the product and their service. They carry batteries for Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, Vertex, Alinco, Standard and more. Search their website, some are under "Amateur Radio", and some are under "Land Mobile Radios".
