Here is more important information on this battery (BatterySpace 14.8 V Li-Ion 6150 MAH and now $129.95 made from 4 TCL POLION Li-Ion cells). Being the curious type and since BatterySpace had refused to review the battery, I decided to open the battery pack and investigate the nature of the failure as described in my previous review. To my surprise I found that the real failure was in the connections between cells. The welded connection between two cells was faulty and not actually welded. The insulation tape was holding the connections in place (sometimes). Further, another soldered joint was not made properly and fell off completely when the tape was removed. I do not have this type of spot welding equipment and decided to try and solder the connections - wrong the tabs must be aluminum or some other metal that does not accept 50/50 solder. Therefore home repair at most hobby workbenches is not possible. This company (BatterySpace) has serious quality control and customer relations issues.

Purchased product in December of 05 did not use product until 1 week ago (5/06). Bench tested the product and discharged the battery until the internal protection circuits disconnected the battery. Re-charged the battery and found that the 6.140 AH rating had dropped to 1.0 AH. Repeated the process to confirm that I had charged the battery properly (with an automatic Li-Ion charger). Contacted the supplier with full information and acknowledged the battery was out of warranty (3 months) and was told to purchase a new battery. They were not interested in finding out why their product failed after 1 use. This level of battery should be protected by its internal circuitry - this one is not protected (most likely cause of the failure).
