Description: Universal downmixer unit from 455 KHz or 10,7 MHz to 12 KHz (input of a PC- soundcard), designed for modification of existing AM- broadcast receivers to be able of DRM- receiving by use of the softwaredecoder. With DREAM software or other allows many receivers even tube receivers to obatin IF-DSP filter and AM-SSB-CW-FM-DRM demodulation!!!

expensive but EFFECTIVE!!!!

It's a low noise third converter with oscillator. The price is very high for the price of the components used. If you want to save money you can build it for yourself (schematic is offerred on-line) but I preferred to have it already assembled. Although overloading of the mixer used is probably not among the best it has some gain and overloading was never a problem if cheap murata 450Khz or 455Khz 18Khz wide were used at the input (they fit very well the high impedance of the mixer). I obatined amazing results using DREAM Softare with the following receivers:
- DEGEN DE1103 (excellent AM-SSB-CW-FM, not good for DRM I think due to a too narrow crystal filter after the first IF),
- SANGEAN909 (excellent AM-SSB-CW-FM, and rather good for DRM), SEE MY REVIEW!!!
- DRAKE 2C (excellent AM-SSB-CW-FM, and good for DRM), SEE MY REVIEW!!!
- HOMEMADE SDR RADIO(excellent AM-SSB-CW-FM, and SUPERB DRM)
BASICALLY THIS UNIT MAY ALLOW MANY ANALOG RECEIVER TO BECOME SDR RADIO AT THE COST OF THIS MIXER!!!
