annoying audio  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I hate to trash this HT because I got it for a very good price but after trying several different things, The Sub=Audible CTSS Tones are audible on a dead key as a hum.Change the CTSS tone and the pitch of the hum changes. Alinco can do better than this. Stay away from this HT

Good Bang for the Buck  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I just purchased this HT yesterday and I had it on the air accessing my local repeater minutes after
I charged the battery. I am not a fan of expensive Ht's with all of their complicated frills and tiny buttons and knobs. There is even an adapter available where I can clone it to my computer and use my older type speaker mike. Although it did not get a glowing audio report form a very meticulus listener, I do not consider it a major issue for casual use and event communications such as Hamfests and public service events

Audio trouble  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
Update:
Traded it for the Yaesu VX-170 when I started getting bad TX audio reports. "Hollow sound" to the point of repeating transmissions and talking very slowly.

Nice HT, Great value  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I just bought one for my teenage daughter at a local hamfest. As a new tech, I wanted to get her a simple yet small HT. We compared it against the Yaesu VX-170. Ease of programming won. I programmed it easily (even with alpha option) from the keyboard. Good size, easy to use/operate, good battery & charger. Clean audio, hot RX. Excellent reports on TX. Solid case, good feeling. Did not notice any intermod in a scan. One of the nicest HT's I've used in 30 years. SN is only 521. Interesting its RX AND TX was 130-174.995 out of the box.

Great Specs  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
The specifications for this radio are impressive. Alinco also provides free radio programming software.

Has any one used one yet?
