I bought this from a refund at Wal-mart. It came with a base and one remote transmitter. I used it to check outdoor temp in the winter of 2004/2005. It worked so well we purchased another base with one remote in 2005 so we could watch the temp in the basement. The first remote came with a remote thermistor the second did not. Did not have original wrapping to see if it was same model or not, but it works great. I have a base it the shack which I use for a Wx net on 2M and my wife has one by her computer. One reading is set for the outside temp and and one in basement, but cannot see what is on her nor she mine, but for $24.00 it is fine. The outside temp got down to -44 and up to 98 so far. I may buy another remote unit, but not sure just to have as a spare if one ever fails. Change batteries on my birthday in june
