Great Job as Usual!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
John stopped-by on his way home (from a much larger job) to correct an item up on my tower and to lend his expertise to a cabling situation (Heliax) I had. Needless to say, he did a great job! Great guy, very personable, and most importantly, know's his job! He is VERY knowledgable about all aspects of the hobby, towers, antennas, etc..you name it..and he does a great & thorough job...and at a reasonable price! I'll have him back again (in a heartbeat!) when I swap out my antenna, etc..or whatever..
Highly recommended! (Like the other reviews!)

Friendly and Responsive  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I usually would not give a review to someone that did not do work for me but I will share my experience with John. I called him to inquire about doing some tower work for me; more specifically the cement foundation. Anyhow, unfortunately John was unable or not able to do the cement foundation I wanted installed but what I can tell you is how friendly he was and very responsive to my call.He was a very friendly guy who listened to my ideas and he called me back immediately after my call.

He explained what he did and what services he offered and hopefully if needed I will get the opportunity to work with him. His rates are very reasonable and based on the feedback I have read here on e-ham as well as other sites such as tower talk John seems to do quality work.

I hope I can follow up with a better review but based on his personality and sharing of information I would not hesitate to call him back to do some work.

Reliable and prompt  Time owned: more than 12 months
My ancient AB-105 tower was John's first professional tower painting job. While I still climb, John has done all my difficult work since the painting job. Today he replaced the feedline and repaired the top hats on my 40-2CD beam, then went up the mast to replace a broken element on the 6 meter beam. He was prepared for some problems and completed the job beautifully and promptly, as always.

Competent and quick  Time owned: months
John replaced a cracked boom to mast bracket on my EF 420 and exchanged a broken Ameritron RCS-8V relay box. Both jobs took only an hour and the price was very reasonable. I was very happy to find someone willing to come quickly and do my two minor but necessary repairs.

Outstanding Service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
W2GD and I have been exchanging several e-mails over the past month or so to firm up the details on antenna work I needed to have performed here in central PA. John arrived on time and immediately went to work. He replaced my rotary dipole at 100 feet and made it look easy. He actually climbed the mast to change out this antenna. He then replaced the matching network on my 6 meter beam. Murphy only struck once when we were unable to get a new piece of coax to work with the six meter antenna. Obviously, I have a bad connector or adaptor. Anyway, all work was completed with 3 hours of day light remaining. John is a true gentleman, his prices are fair and he does the job right the first time. He informed me that my rotor was only being held in place by two bolts as the other sheered off sometime this winter in the strong winds. Ah yes, another project that needs my attention.

Great job John and I'm back in business with a new and a repared antenna. 73, Bob K3UL

Amazing service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
John sent me an email the night before. He was doing a commercial job on my street and remembered I needed some help. A flurry of emails within hours resulted in him showing up at my QTH the next afternoon, Since I had to be at work I left him a to do list; made my meager parts available to him and hoped for the best. In a couple of hours he completed the tasks I set out. We talked on cell phones twice for clarification.
I smiled as I drove up my 1100 ft. hill and saw the antennas looking in the same direction with parallel elements. A follow up email asking for customer feedback and ideas of other things to consider completed the visit. W2GD is a class act, professional specialist and an amazing person to be able to climb less than 1 year after riding a tower to the ground.

Excellent work - great advice - reasonable rates  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
Late in the summer of 2008, I decided to replace my old antenna system. The tower ( 45G installed in 1978 ) also needed painting. John (W2GD) brushed off the surface rust and painted it and it now appears as new....what a difference. After much consideration, I decided to purchase the Force F 12 5BA and 230/240 to mount on top of 4130 18 ft mast. Weather conditions were not great in December with snow on the ground and cold PA winter but he worked safely though the conditions. John and I sat in my garage on a rainy day and installed the hundreds of pop-rivets to put together the Force 12 antennas. Installation of the antennas and new Bury Flex coax went smoothly. I am a very HAPPY client and plan to have him back in the spring for more work. A great guy to work with.

I cantacted John back in the fall.

He did an HF antenna relocation for me.
A push up mast mounted Hex beam , to a roof tower.
He showed up right on time, had the job done very quick.

Fair prices, reliable...and a real nice guy.
I would use him again anytime.

Glad to hear he is back from his accident.
Old school ham, a real gentleman.

Excellent/Very professional  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have known John W2GD for three years. He is one of the best tower installers in the business.
He will travel to wherver you are to get the job done.

Three years ago John took down my old Mosley TA33 and installed a Force 12 C4 on a US Tower MA55 crank up. From the very beginning John took the time to explain every aspect of the procedure. Everything was done in a professional manner
.
John is easy to work with, However, he is an expert. The completed job was perfect. The tower and antenna looked great.

This past fall John came bye to do a little maintenance. The tower is still perfect and so is the antenna. If you want something done correctly, John is man to do it. I sincerely mean this. Befre meeting him, I could not find anyone who was willing to do what John has accomplished.
