Reviews Summary for AARL VUCC Award
AARL VUCC Award Reviews: 1 Average rating: 5.0/5 MSRP: $10.00
Description: "The VHF/UHF Century Club is the counterpart to the DXCC for the bands 50 MHz to 300 GHz. It requires working and confirming V/UHF contacts in 2X1 grid square locators on all V/UHF bands. Satellite and Laser contact count, too. Individual certificates are issued per band to those meeting the initial qualifying levels, with an extensive endorsement program beyond the initial certificate. All cards must be checked by ARRL VHF Awards Managers--check the VUCC website for the manager near you. A VUCC lapel pin is available at a nominal charge."

Please see the www.arrl.org/awards/vucc website for additional information including information on fees.

A Goal for Every Ham  Time owned: more than 12 months
The ARRL VHF UHF Century Club Award (VUCC) should be on every ham's "Bucket List". Depending on the band, it can be among the easiest of the major awards to win (6 Meter VUCC requires little more than a single Summer E-Skip season to complete--and during a major contest can be worked in a single weekend) to among the most challenging.

2 Meter VUCC can prove more daunting that 5 Band DXCC.

But it's also an award that the league has never given it's "Due". For instance, it used to award a lapel pin along with the certificate, but those went away years ago. There is no VUCC merchandise in the ARRL store. No cool t-shirts, hats, or key chains for winning it.

Nope, VHF Men (and women) are still kind of the red-headed stepchildren of ham radio despite the fact that all the really cool things in the hobby happen above 50 MHz. Think about satellites, EME, APRS, D-Star, meteor scatter, amateur television, high altitude balloons, contacts with the ISS or Space Shuttle--it all happens on the ultra-highs.

VHF Men do it with more Frequency, but the league still regards us as second class citizens. That's why VUCC is proudly earned by only a handful of hams. Everyone has a DXCC Award, but only the few can earn VUCC.

Get up on 6 Meters or higher and start earning yours today. Chasing Grids is more fun that humans should be allowed to have. And even if the league won't sell you a t-shirt, you'll still be proud to be part of this exclusive club!
