Good deal

Hello everyone,
Well i got this antenna, 3 monthes now and it's working great. The antenna is 14 meters hight, I'm using ft 450, versa tuner3 and you need it to tune this antenna. On 20, 17, 15m SWR are ok under 1.5. On 12, 10m SWR =2 or more so... but with tuner system it's SWR = 1.
On 20m this antenna is an equivalent of 2 elements yagi, 17 and 15m it's equivalent of 3 elements and for the rest it's looks like 4 elements yagi.
I made some qrp qso with 10w PEP on 20m with Venezuela, with this antenna and VK stations with 100watts and DX station with pile up. If you want a small logperiodic it's a good choice. Take Care 73 Vincent F8cgz

After 7 years of use

I've had very good luck with my T6 for the past 7 years. Held up well to the weather, getting caught on a errant tree limb and everything that mother nature threw at it. Only issue was having to repair the balun connections a few years ago. This past month I had to take down the tower and antenna due to a move. After all those years up in the air the antenna looked almost as good as the day I put it up - not quite as shiny but no corrosion and the best part of it all was it came apart as easily as it went together. All the screws and elements were easily removed and packed up to go to the new QTH. I've taken down other antennas and have had to fight to get them apart after this long in the air.

Spoke to bob W4RAA (previous review) on 20 meters.Bob lives in daytona beach florida and im here in virginia beach VA.Bob toggled between a g5rv tuned flat with a height of 42 feet above ground and the t-6 at 38 feet. Well i was impressed. On every test the T-6 was 10 to 12 db stronger than the g5rv. With the g5rv he was a tad over s-9 and with the T-6 15 db over s-9. I dont see how a force 12 antenna could be better than this. The difference was huge. Also bob explained the antenna is hand made and machined super tight and heavy duty materials. No skimping.NO RIVETES to fail and driven element insulators that you can beat with a hammer. After this my ta-33 will be sold to get this awsome antenna. Dont get me wrong my ta-33 is a fine and super strong antenna but traps are a bit lossy and i need to have a tuner in line due to the narrow bandwidth.so im getting robbed thru the antenna tuner and the traps. Now i can put away the tuner and no traps. This has to give me an extra 3 DBD of gain eliminating the traps and tuner. Anyone want a ta-33 cheap.

Great performing Antenna

Installed the Tennadyne T6 on a U.S. Towers MA550 crank up tower, currently at 38ft. i have a Cushcraft 210-70S mounted on the same mast 5 feet above it. It is turned by a HyGain T2X.
Had to read the assembly instructions a few times to get it clear. Assembly if fairly easy, Just don't get ahead of yourself, take your time.
I assembled the boom sections in my garage along with the elements. Mounted the Boom on the Tower mast while it was tilted over, had no room to install the elements when the tower was tilted over. raised the tower back verticle and was fully retracted at 22'10", I stood on my roof and installed the elements. Used the Choke from Tennadyne. The SWRs are very low, nothing above 1:75:1 and that is on 10mtrs, all other bands are 1:1:1 to 1:5:1. First thing i noticed was that after rotating the T6 to the transmitting station was a 3-4 db gain. The big test came when i called back to a station in Slovenia with 65 watts, My signal was 59+, rock solid. I always had to work on contacting Hawaii also, not anymore, my signal came into Hawaii numerous times no less than 59+, up to 59+15 with only 100watts. the T6 is a workhorse, well worth the money.

Well Built

T-6 was a very good antenna. I had it up for a year. I replaced it with another Tennadyne product. For the price, size and band coverage, the T-6 is the way to go. The antennas are built to last. They are built very well! However, they need to work on their customer service. You can e mail them and hardly ever get a response. You call and get a recording. I have called a few times and never got my call returned. I guess if you want them to call you back you better say that you’re ready to buy. I’m not trying to make a big deal of this but it is worth mentioning and that’s why you have this forum. Last point, ordered a new Tennadyne and they said I would have it in two weeks, well, just about a month later and no antenna. Called today and someone actually picked up the phone. Great product, customer service good be better.

Awesome construction and Class "A" workmanship. Simple to put together (1.5 hrs) and is pretty much self explanitory when assembling. I got mine on a Thursday , up and running on Friday. Antenna is 55 feet and I put it up myself! Very light but stong. Signals jumped 3 to 4 "S" units compaired to my taken down my Cushcraft MA5B. Great antenna! Pictures of my T-6 will be on the Tennadyne website soon. Thanks Tennadyne.

Good value for the money

I have had my T-6 for over 3 years and have had it mounted on different supports over that time. It is now at 36' on the edge of a ridge making the effective height a little better. The antenna went up and down because I have been trying (finally successfully) to decouple the coax from the antenna to improve the pattern. The final arrangement is a W2DU ferrite balun (not reccommended by the original builder of the antenna in Texas) at the front of the booms (the feed point) and a Solonoid wound choke where the coax leaves the booms to the mast. With only the "Collins Balun" at the feed I noticed the same broad front lobe and only fair Front to Back that others have. With the present arrangement, the front lobe is noticably narrower and the F/B is much improved. After all my testing and playing I am now even more pleased with this antenna.

Good antenna for the money
|
Time owned: 3 to 6 months

I have had this up for about five months and it does it all. From 20 meters to 10 meters with no matching. SWR O.K. on all bands and it is not to bad on 6 meters either.
I replaced a cushcraft MA5B at 40 feet with the T-6 at 70 feet.
Directions are hard to follow but with a little help from wc3f and k3qlz all worked out.
If you have the room you can not go wrong with this antenna. W3JAC

GOOD ANTENNA, GOOD PRICE

Time owned: 6 to 12 months

I DIDN'T WANT TO COMMENT ON THE ANTENNA UNTIL I HAD ACTUALLY GIVEN THE UNIT A DECENT SHAKEDOWN...WELL THE ANTENNA PERFORMS AS PER TENNADYNE'S SPECS...THE MATERIAL IS FIRST RATE...PUTTING IT TOGETHER TAKES SOME THINKING, BUT ROGER IS GOOD ABOUT GIVING YOU ALL THE ADVICE YOU MIGHT NEED..HAD A MINOR PROBLEM WITH THE JOINT BETWEEN MY TWO BOOM SECTIONS, AND ROGER ONCE AGAIN GOT A NEW PIECE OFF TO ME QUICKLY.SO FAR MY EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN MOSTLY ON 20 METERS, AND 17 METERS, WHERE THE ANTENNA HAS MADE A GOOD SHOWING FOR ITSELF..I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ROGER INCLUDE A BETTER TYPE OF BOOM TO MAST CLAMP, AS THE CURRENT SETUP I BELIEVE WILL EVENTUALLY ALLOW SOME TWISTING IN HIGH WINDS..HARD TO BEAT THE VALUE FOR A FIVE BAND, ONE FEEDLINE ANTENNA...K2LGO..BOB

Big signal, Small Footprint

3 years old now, and still going strong. This is a very nice antenna for the price and size. Do to many antenna problems in the past I have the T6 mounted on a Hazer Tram for ease of maintenance. After 3 years I have never had to crank it down! This small log is very durable. A keeper for sure!
