I've own this radio for about 2-years, it's a great scanner...I listen to local police, fire, aircraft, maritime, vhf-radio repeaters, & ambulances...has good sensitivity w/my outside vertical...Now, I think I'm gonna get the programming software to make changing all those frequencies a little easier for me...excellent inexpensive scanner for general use

Works Well

I bought this scanner over a year ago because I wanted to follow the trunked police and fire in Fayetteville, NC. It did a great job.
Now, I'm in a rural PA setting with good old analog systems. The scanner has good sensitivity with the whip antenna and I now use it to provide an internet audio stream of fire/police action so I can listen at work. The line out on the scanner comes in very handy for that application.
Make sure to get the scanner control software. It makes programming a snap and looks pretty neat also.

Works as advertised, and works well. Once you get the hang of programming it, or, alternatively use the downloadable programming software, it is a snap to use....even the trunking stuff gets easy once you develop the methodology for programming. Well worth the bucks.
