Description: In order to achieve the OMISS military award or "Esprit de Military", it is necessary to work 12 OMISS members who have served, or are now serving, in the military of the United States of America. All contacts must be made on OMISS net frequencies during OMISS net times. Mixed band contacts are authorized. All contacts must have been made on or after November 11, 2001 to be valid for this award. On the OMISS website, www.omiss.net, there is a complete listing of OMISS military members and an OMISS military search engine. Endorsements are available for working each additional 12 OMISS military members. Endorsements of 12 are referred to as "Squad" endorsements. After the 36th contact (three squads), the award may be endorsed for the "Platoon" endorsement. Three Platoons (108 contacts) may be endorsed for a "Company". Three Companies (424 contacts) may be endorsed for a "Battalion".
