Cheap & unreliable  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I bought this little supply for test bench use. It was cheap, has a cigar lighter socket, good terminals and seemed well made. I was soak testing a Kenwood TM455 on receive overnight @<1amp consumption. In the morning I found the radio was off but the supply light was still on. Closer inspection revealed the fuse on the Kenwood was o/c, and the psu was no output. The regulator was u/s for no apparent reason. Construction inside was very basic but about ok, except for the cheap transformer which was disappointing and of course the duff regulator. The Kenwood finished its repeat soak test on my british built BNOS supply without any other problems. The moral is if you buy new equipment at cb radio prices you get what you pay for.
