Reflected went south (died)  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
Had unit less than a year and the reflected side went south (died) this past week. For the price I paid, I would have thought it would have lasted much longer.

JUNK  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought this watt meter expecting it to be great. Was I wrong. This meter is not even close to being correct in any range. Does not measure PEP at all. Thank goodness the company I bought from refunded my money less shipping. No more Diawa products for me.

Satisfied with it  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I picked up the Diawa CN-801H at Dayton. It doesn't come with it's own 12V source to use the backlight, so I hooked it up to the rigs ACC jack. It's very attractive and matches the PRO-II as though it were made for it. It's very easy to read and not having to calibrate the SWR is nice. For Diawa to imply it's a PEP meter is
disappointing and but for that I would have rated it a 5/5. The 3 power ranges are useful and I needed that 2 KW range. It may not do what it's claimed to do but it does give me all I need to know, so I'll keep it. It sure beats using the Bird.

Not worth the money  Time owned: more than 12 months
The meter is big and easy to read and I liked the nice blue light. Seems accurate in the rms mode BUT the nice blue light lasted about 1 month. The PEP mode is worthless. With a PEP output of 1500 watts the meter reads about 600 watts PEP. The PEP function uses passive ckts, not active. Replaced the meter with an Ameritron AWM-30. The Ameritron is MUCH better.

Good....PEP Needs Work  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
This meter was excellent for the main reason I wanted it. A large cross needle meter to see output in relationship to SWR at a glance. PEP shows about 60-75% of actual output. Its not a major factor in this shack, but I can see where it would be a problem in some installations. Get the PEP straightened out and its a "5".

Doesn't measure PEP  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought a CN-801H at Dayton thinking it measured peak envelope power. The instructions' fine print finally confesses that it doesn't measure PEP. In fact, the latest HRO catalog says this meter "monitors peak envelope power." Monitor and measure aren't the same. Anyway, the vendor was kind enough to allow me to exchange the CN-801H for an Ameritron AWM-30, a true PEP measuring wattmeter. I'm happy now.

The Daiwa is an attractive meter and it was accurate in measuring power output. The Ameritron's fit and finish doesn't measure up to the Daiwa but the Ameritron does what I want and the Daiwa didn't. Before you buy this meter, understand that it will NOT measure PEP on SSB.

Not a PEP wattmeter  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
Have used one of these meters for a while. I like the meter, but for Daiwa to say this a PEP reading meter is completely false. Either the cirquitry is not in the meter for PEP reading, or the meter is too dampened to show PEP fast enough. But as a regular shack meter used for amplifier tunup and regular power checks, it functions good. The accuracy also seems to be reasonable.

Does not read PEP  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
I purchased my meter new from a HRO and purchased it because it is advertised as being capable of reading both Avg power and PEP power. My meter does not measure PEP power, nor does it have the required circuitry to reasonably measure PEP power. Therefore, the claims to measure PEP are false. Other than that, my meter seems to reasonably measure average power and SWR just fine. In summary, if you are looking for a meter that can measure PEP power, move on.. This one does not..

Junk  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I would never recommend this product to anyone. Was inferior from day one, it showed 500 watts when i was actually running 100. Stay away from this one.
