Exceptional Triband Quad

Initial assembly though complex, is made perfectly straightforward with clear and logical instructions. Following the assembly steps in correct sequence is the key to getting this Kingbee flying. I found that a stand with a short mast to mount the quad's boom during assembly was necessary. The fit and quality of all components is excellent.
Tuning the quad for the one's preferred portion of 6 and 2 meters is simple. Adjusting for resonance on 70cm is possible with careful trimming and a good analyzer.
This quad performs well horizontally fed on all 3 bands with excellent rejection of signals off the side. It is a good choice if you want all three bands on one beam.

3 Great Antennas in One

I purchased the Kingbee III in late December, 2006. This is a fairly complicated antenna to assemble but the instructions were easy to follow and covered all of the necessary steps. As with any antenna project it is good to have an antenna analyzer handy to tweek the driven elements to the frequencies you want to operate.
The company responded promptly to a call I made to them and answered my question quickly.
I have the antenna mounted at 48 feet and am VERY pleased with the performance. 2 meter and 70 cm are fantastic. I previously used a 10 element yagi on two meter sideband and the eight elements on this antenna beats it hands down. There haven't been any openings on 6 meters, to speak of, but contacts in a 200 mile radius are a breeze.
If you are thinking of installing multiple antennas for VHF/UHF you should look at this one.
