Description: Sent a FT897D in with blown VHF Finals.
Spoke with Cal on the phone before sending it in. Cal was very pleasant and informative. Kept me up to date witht he repair, done a fantastic job and was way cheaper than Yaesu's "estimated" repair price for the exact same service.

I'm Happy  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
As quick an estimate as I could hope for, followed by a very timely completion on my 440SAT. Reasonable bench charge and what I considered a very reasonable time on the bench to do a thorough job. Itemized list of parts used. I'm happy.

ft 847  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Called Cal about a ft847 no 2 meter ouput and shuttle jog problem, Told me to ship the rig to him and he will take a look. Shipping took a week to get there and well a week later Cal sent email repairs were complete. Wow was that fast, He also found some other problems and corrected them at a great price. If you have a problem with a rig don't waste your time anywhere else, Just send it to Cal.

Yaesu 840 fix  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
There are good guys and then there are super good guys. Cal took the time to explain my "radio problem" which turned out to be "operator error" [mine]. While he had the radio he tweeked it on the bench and assured me it is 100% operational. Great job.

GREAT SERVICE!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Just received my YAESU FT-650 back from Cal & it works GREAT as I expected after Cal did a COMPLETE service & alignment. His rates are GREAT & he does NOT mind you calling & asking a question if you feel the need. This is my second time using his service(BOTH were YAESU rigs)& I am VERY PLEASED again.I have also recommended his services for a couple of friends & they are ALL happy with the service & price as am I.If you want FAST,DEPENDABLE service at a VERY REASONABLE price give the folks at Hamrepair.com a try & see why his feedback rating is so HIGH.

Excellent experience!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I'm adding to the cloud of witnesses here in praising HamRepair.com's excellent repair service!

On March 9th I sent my FT-817ND to HamRepair.com after reading the excellent reviews here. Turns out that there was a bad detector diode on the PA board that had failed because of a couple of cold solder joints from the factory.

On March 18 the repairs were completed - less than 2 weeks.

Cal also realighned the radio and it is working great.

Cal Fischedr NF5P is very skilled and very professional. It was hard to send my radio off for repairs but it was worth the short wait. My radio works better than it did when I got it new.

Some reviews have pros and cons, this one is all pros. His rate is very good at $45 per hour, he is very polite and professional and he does excellent work. He takes quite a few steps beyond what is expected and moves mighty close to perfection. I'm happy that I sent my radio to Cal for repair.

He gets a perfect '5.0' score from me. Thanks!

Excellent Service  Time owned: more than 12 months
I had a problem with my FT-100 where there was no VHF/UHF output and a small problem in the HF bands. I called Cal and told him about my problem and shipped the radio to him. He repaired the radio and realigned it. He then called me and explained what he did and also provided some recommendations as to how to safely run this radio with expensive VHF/UHF finals. Excellent shop rate also. If I have any problems with other rigs, they are surely going to Cal.

Thanks

GREAT SERVICE!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Called Ham repair.com on the phone. Told them of my problem. Cal gave me a ball park quote over the phone. Sent my FT-847 in for a repair of the power switch. Not only did he fix the switch but he did a modification to the switch so that it would be trouble free for a while and gave me an explanation as to how the switch worked and why it failed. Anyway he also did the MARS/CAP mod for me also. He tested the radio for sensitivity and power out. The repair was just what he quoted me. I just wished I lived closer to his shop because shipping was just about the same as the cost of the repair. The repair took lest that 3 weeks and I was back on the air. Great Job Cal!!!!

Unbelieveable!  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
I sent in a yaesu 857d that a friend and I had messed up trying to mars/cap. I figured the radio would only half work ever again. Cal not only repaired it and mars/cap, but people are commenting that my transmit is better than before. It receives fantastic and, to me, this little radio worked over by Cal is the best all around bargain in the ham world.

Don't try to do the mods you find on the web. Save yourself time and trouble. Send your radio to hamrepair.com. The work is unbelieveable and he packed everything marking it very fragile. What a pro. It's so good to know someone who I can trust with all of my ham repair needs. I want to spread the word.
