Description: Sent a FT897D in with blown VHF Finals.
Spoke with Cal on the phone before sending it in. Cal was very pleasant and informative. Kept me up to date witht he repair, done a fantastic job and was way cheaper than Yaesu's "estimated" repair price for the exact same service.

Super Job!!!  Time owned: more than 12 months
Thanks to Cal my first dualbander (FT-8000R)is still going strong after 11 1/2 years of service. It took a week to have it fixed. I use it everyday and have no problem from the day I got it back. And the price was right! You won't go wrong with his service.

Absolutely Superb  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This is my second repair with Cal Fisher at HamRepair.com. He repaired an HF transceiver for me last summer and just last week he brought my Collins 30L-1 back to life. Cal's work is impeccable and the turn-around is very quick. It is very reassuring to have such a service available. Cal seems to tackle almost any challenge and it is a true pleasure to deal with him. I give him the absolute highest recommendation.

Quick and Fast Service  Time owned: more than 12 months
I recently sent in a transceiver that had a blown diode and relay and since it was surface mount technology, I elected to send it to Cal, at HamRepair.com (www.HamRepair.com). I shipped it prior to the Christmas holidays and received my invoice on 1/2/2008, less then a week turn around! Invoice was very detailed and measurements provided. Cost was as expected and considered reasonable. Sure glad I didn't elect to send it to LandAir.Com. Probably would have been tripled in cost.

BTW: LandAir also sells used gear but check out the outlandish prices. $400-500 for a TS-130, $400 for an old FT-707, etc. No wonder that guy is rich. Hi.

Anyway, I digress. Cal is great to talk to on the phone and quick to get your equipment back to you and up and running. I know I have missed my radio these past few days and was expecting a turn around of around 30 days. What a pleasant surprise!

Excellent!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I never wrote a review here but this story deserves to be told.
I own a TS-940, it started transmitting intermittently.
I talked to Bill from B&B, sent it and he did not fix it, sent it back to me saying...are you sure the rig is not working??
This company fixed several other radios that I own, but this one, it did not, I have been charged of course and believe me, 57 pounds freight from MI to CO is not cheap.
Then I sent it to Land Air Communications, I am almost felt being ripped off by this guy.
I paid 300 dollars plus 100 dollars freight. Should I say that I paid 37 dollars to send the rig in and this guy charged me 100 dollars to send it back to me?
The rig got back home and had the same problem, I sent it back to Land Air, paid freight again and this guy could not find the problem, he sent it back to me.
The worst experience ever.
At this point, I was wondering if these people were spending even a little time in front of the rig to find the problem.
Then I found this company, Ham Repair, not too many reviews, but at this point, reviews did not mean much, I sent an email to Cal and of course, he had questions, after all two guys had failed.
After exchanging a few emails, Cal accepted my TS-940.
I sent it in and 10 days later I got a phone call from Cal saying, done!
He fixed it and charged me 90 dollars.
I thought....well...we'll see if it works when it gets home. The rig works perfectly after two weeks.
The difference between Ham Repair and the other two companies was that Ham Repair spent 10 minutes in front of my rig waiting for the failure to show up and it did.
I asked Cal to spend those 10 minutes, obviously he did and found the problem.
The other two companies did not take the time to do this, as soon as they saw the red TX LED to lite up, the said.......next!!
I totally trust this company and I would recommend it to anyone.
