A+ all the way.  Time owned: more than 12 months
It was one week before fieldday 2010. I was having a problem with one of my contest stations K3. I next day aired the radio on a Monday, and Elecraft had fixed and sent it back to me by Wednesday, wow how can you compare that to any other service for any product.

From the extra kind and polite receptionists to the savvy techs. They really do care, and fix it right the first time and lightning fast.

Yeah i paid for fast shipping, but the radio from Iowa to California next air air was only $45.00 USPS.

Total cost to fix a blown component under warranty $90.00 for 2 day turn around time and had it 2 full days before fieldday...WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

K2 upgrade  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
In 1994 I built my K2 2451 and since this time I did no updates either in hardware nor in software. So I asked Alan for help and in addition to build and install the 100 Watt pa. It was very uncomplicated, even from Europe. In my view there are three things to assess: Alan is in every respect absolutely trustworthy, the technical performance of its work is beyond any doubt, service and shipping was very simple, as in a domestic operation.

Thank you Alan

Finely built K2  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I just received my completed K2 from Alan, and the only reason I rated him a 5 is because there are not higher numbers available.
It was well packed and safely shipped. The build quality and alignment is superb- everything in working order upon arrival- no surprises.
My K2 is pretty well dressed up with options and is destined for field work.
Alan went one step beyond the expected and sent pictures and updates along the assembly process.
He was professional, friendly and helpful before, during and after building the kit. He gave me great advice on outfitting my K2 with the options I needed, reviewed my purchase order from Elecraft (I sent to him) and called me to let me know I had neglected an important option in time for me to amend my order and get it right-that's service!
I would most highly recommend this skilled engineer if you want a superbly assembled and aligned K2.

EXCELLENT CRAFTSMANSHIP, FAIR PRICING & SUPER COMMUNICATIONS!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
In 2008 Alan built my ELECRAFT K1-4 and did a SUPERB job not only in the building but kept me informed in the process by phone calls & e-mailing me photos of the progress.

So when I purchased from a fellow HAM a second-hand very late S/N ELECRAFT K2/100 with KAT100, I decided I wanted them "split" into Twins. Naturally I thought of Alan again.

Alan and I discussed the details by phoncons & e-mails including a couple of additional kits I desired to have installed. Then Alan proceeded from there.

In short order, I had my "new" K2/100 Twins. They perform better than I could ever imagined or expected. Alan is so pleasant/easy to work with. Again Alan kept me in the "loop".

The additional kits I requested required toroids. I purchased the toroids from Mychael, The Toroid Guy. I had the toroids "drop shipped" to Alan. The purchase by phoncon with Mychael was EXTREMELY pleasant. He did an excellent job.

Where the "TOTAL OUTLAY" [from start to finish product] for my K2/100 Twins were kind of expensive, it's EXACTLY what I wanted to complete my ELECRAFT Station.

I now have the ELECRAFT K1-4, K2/100 Twins and a K3/100 that I assembled. It has ALL been well worth it! I finally have my DREAM station! Thanks to ELECRAFT and Alan.

Thanks, Alan!

KX-1 alive and kicking  Time owned: more than 12 months
Thought my old KX-1 was a write-off so I assembled a new one. Shipped it to Alan howewer and the ocean crossing was a good investment. Good service and expedite handling!

Exceptional Service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
My K2 is a work of art thanks to Alan. His experience with the K2 provided me with much more than an expert build. My discussions with him provided me with expert advice on the right configuration of accessories to fit my operating style. This included the incorporation of "rework eliminators" into the build, which will permit me to add options if my needs change. He provided me with a step-by-description of the build process, with weekly email photos. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any Elecraft work!

Fast and expert build of PSK-20  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Alan turned around a PSK-20 kit in a week. The workmanship was superb and the toroidguy provided pre-wound toroids. Alan charges a fair price, is aware all all tweaks and mods, and does a perfect alignment.

Alan Wilcox received all the components to assemble my K1 directly from Elecraft. He got it running in a week. I was jogging one evening and he called me saying, can you hear the background?, that is your K1 running.
This gentleman sends you pictures of every board he assembles and keeps you posted almost daily. Considering the top shelf job and service he gives you, do not even bother checking prices. You can't go wrong with Alan.

Most Excellent!!!  Time owned: more than 12 months
My early-vintage K2 was not being used because we were living in a temporary QTH. This was an excellent opportunity for me to have the K2 "tuned up" and the SSB board completed & installed that I had purchased, but never built.

I found Alan on the Elecraft web pages and thought I'd give him a try.

Alan gave a very fair quote, communicated with me through out the entire process (telephone & email), and made me feel very comfortable with having him work on "my baby". The result was great! He did everything he said he would do, in only a few days. I highly recommend him if you need work done on your Elecraft rig(s).

K3  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I used W3DVX to install calibrate my new K3 radio and to install the 100W power amplifier.

1st, I'll speak about the facts of his work:

1) I sent him the radio on a Tues.
2) He told me that he got it on a Wed
3) He worked on it on a Thurs.
4) He sent it back on a Friday

From start to finish, the entire process took 4 days.

In this case,he also looked over my construction (which was important because I had never built anything like this in RF electronics before) and he found 1 or 2 errors in what I had done. This is invaluable because this check of my work saved me hours of needless aggravation and more time learning to operate the radio.

His experience is rooted both in the theoretical and practical aspects of RF electronics so you're not just getting the expertise of a technician.

He is honest and his rates are reasonable.

I would not hesitate to use his services again and would recommend his work to others.
