Outstanding WOW!

I must say that the Heil PR 781 is much more than I expected. I recieve reports of excellent audio and often asked what microphone I am using. I am proud to say that I am using the Heil PR 781 Microphone with my Icom 756 ProIII. What a great combination this makes. This microphone is well worth the price and I recommend this to anyone seeking good audio quality. Thank You Bob Heil.
Best 73,
Harry

Thank you Mr. Heil for a very good microphone, and thank you HRO for your excellent service getting it to me. As respectful as I can be to all who have reviewed this microphone, and all microphones here at Eham, please allow me to express how pleased I am with this mic. Works well with my 756PROIII, 7700, and even my IC910H. With minor adjustments on each transceiver of course.
Also, Bob Heil is a wonderful, friendly, and very helpful man. He answered all my emails, and addressed all my questions promptly before the purchase of this mic. What a great guy.
Thanks and 73 de terry W3QJ

I received my PR-781 today and it sounds fantastic. Absolutly studio sounding with well balanced articulation. In combination with my 2000D this is a perfect duo for being on the air. Also average speak power has improved by using this microphone. I would recommend to everyone who is looking for bringing out clear and wide responsed audio.

I use with my IC-7700 is simply fantastic.
I passed by an SM-20 to PR-781: greater bandwidth and voice clean and clear.
Strongly recommended!

Perfect in combination with Icom IC-7700
|
Time owned: 3 to 6 months
|
We did an extensive audiotest with different microphones in combination with the IC-7700.
We made 33 different recordings with an Icom IC-756ProIII on 3.615 MHz between 09.00 and 10.30 LT.
Tested microphones in alfabetical order:
Heil HM10 with HC5 element
Heil PR40
Heil PR781
Icom SM20
Mixer: Behringer Xenyx1202FX.
Interface: Better RF I-Mate.
With the different microphones we tried various settings on the Behringer mixer and on the IC-7700.
1. The Heil PR781 gave the best results! The audio was very clear and with a beautiful wide frequency response. Great combination with the IC-7700!
2. The Heil PR40 was good, but not as clear as the PR781. We could easily hear the difference between the two microphones; the PR781 sounded better.
3. Icom SM20. Fair but not with the beautiful warm and wide frequency response as the PR781. Not recommended.
4. The Heil HC5 clearly is not the best microphone in combination with the IC-7700. It sounds poor. Not recommended.

Second Great Review

I wanted to up-date my review of the PR 781. It was a wonderful mic! I just traded it in on the Heil PR40 and the very day that HRO-Denver received it it was sold! It was an excellent mic! The PR40 is just a notch above the horizon. The 781 is probably a bargain for the money!

I had this microphone shipped in from the States at the beginning of january to replace the MD100 on my FT-1000MP Mark-V.
What a difference this mic makes. Now I never recieved any bad reports on the MD100, but people that I chat too were just so amazed by the fast improvement in audio quality. They found it hard to believe that I had not altered any settings.
This is one excellent Microphone, and I must thank Bob for such a masterpeice.

I bought the PR781 at the HAM-Radio in Friedrichshafen. I use it with my FT-847 in FM (VHF/UHF). QSO-Partners appreciate the pleasing sound of this microphone.
