Outstanding & Beautiful

My XYL & I spent a week at RadioReef in late April 2008. Brad, the ham in the family and his lovely wife Donna are wonderful hosts. Offering you complete privacy but at the same time being available for any question or suggestion about the island. This place is beautiful, the setting is 300 feet ASL overlooking the North Coast of St Croix. You are less than 1/4 from walking on the most pristine white beaches one has ever seen. The accommodations are completly remodeled and all new from top to bottom. Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, microwave, even your own coffee pot. The furniture is very nice, the bedroom is totally furnished with a huge king size bed and a nice air conditioner for those warm nights. Cable TV is also included for the rare times your not in the hammock or on the radios. There is a large covered deck that has a breakfast table, large hammock for those lazy afternoons, and even your own BBQ grill.
As for the radio equipment, it is all world class with great LARGE HF antennas. First of all, the radio room is a seperate room from the apartment, just around the corner of the deck and has it's own air conditioner. You can operate in total peace and quiet. There are three operating positions, take your pick of the Yaesu radios and the ALPHA amps you wish to use. Everything is included from the Bencher keyer, the Heil headset even computers to use while your operating and of course wireless internet. The propagation is amazing from the Caribbean. Antennas include beams for 40 thru 10 meters...guys the 3 element 40 meter and the 6 element 20 meter beams are hole burners!
Having visited other DXpedition rentals I can honestly say that this location is a hidden gem and I expect the word to spread very quickly. Sit back and enjoy the rest and radio that you are sure to experience.
Travel to St Croix is very easy as it is considered a US Territory, passports are NOT required. English is the language and the dollar bill is the currency. HOWEVER, they do drive on the left side of the road! That takes a bit of getting used to. Enjoy your trip but book early, slots will no doubt fill fast ! QRZ DX! 73 de W5IF
