Very disappointing  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I was looking forward to this brand new ARRL publication but was disappointed by it. I count only 22 pages of content that's really specific to GPS and ham radio together, which is rather minimal when you consider the $18.95 price tag.

Most of the ham-radio section is dedicated to APRS. I was happy for that information, but was hoping for much more. I learned a few other things along the way, but overall the content in the book is much too light.

Several interesting and related topics are raised (like geocaching and search and rescue applications) but these are given a few quick paragraphs of very general information that really isn't informative. To compound the lack of content, many of the picture captions are repeated verbatim in the text itself.

I found quite a few statements in the book that I'd take issue with, and there are also some minor editing issues. It's also disappointing that a brand new book would feature several images of different GPS units that have been long discontinued.

All in all, very disappointing. Not without some merit, but I just can't recommend it.
