Does what you expect

Pros - Thick aluminum, wide base to disperse stresses, attractive polished finish.
Cons - Lacking fender washers for common non mirror applications, finish tarnishes easily, SO-239 uses flimsy lock washer, cheap installation hardware.
This is a simple, cheap bracket that can be seen on the sides of RVs, in the beds of pickups, and on the spare tire stops of jeeps all over. A simple, rugged design that helps widely displace the stresses a large antenna can generate, and a simple, straight forward way to mount the antenna. The drawbacks can easily be fixed by...
Spraying bracket with clear coat to seal the finish.
Deal with the flimsy lock washer in the SO-239. It isn't that big of an issue.
Replace the mounting hardware with shorter stainless steel pieces from the local hardware store, and add fender washers to the back side so the bolt heads cannot pull through a body panel.
I am picking nits here on this thing. It does what you expect it to do, and they work well enough that this is my 2nd one, and won't be my last...
