The last time I had a photo QSL printed, it was done by an outfit in the midwest (now apparently defunct, thankfully...) and it was a wholly unpleasant experience. The card was poorly printed, the image on the front had horrible moire patterns, and the back (info) side of the card looked like it was a scanned copy of the proof I sent along with the digital files. When I expressed my displeasure, the printer essentially blamed me for sending "inadequate artwork". It struck me as odd that the printer didn't have time to contact me and let me know that my artwork was "inadequate" but somehow did manage to find time to cash my check. I swore I would never try a photo QSL again. After 14 years, a new QTH, and a callsign change, however, I needed new cards so I went shopping online. Happily, this time the results were far better than I could have imagined thanks to Lee at PhotoQSLs .com.
I realize that things have come a long way since the early 90's in printing technology, and figured I would have better results this time. I found PhotoQSLs.com by doing a Google search; the prices were low enough to take a chance on them, so I uploaded my files and sent my PayPal payment.
Within hours, I received an email (time-stamped 1:36AM!) from Lee. Thus began a back-and-forth series of emails about optimizing my artwork for the best quality print job. I rescanned the image at a higher resolution and recreated the entire card from scratch based on Lee's suggestions. The finished cards arrived a few business days later by Priority Mail, and the final result is fabulous! My only regret is that I didn't order more cards.
I highly recommend PhotoQSLs.com to anyone looking for high quality printing and superior customer service.

Great Product, Excellent Service

I have been licensed since 1953, but always used a "Stock Design" single color QSL Card. I received permission to use a full color picture of an 8 ft x 11 ft mural that depicts the origin of the name of my QTH. PhotoQSL worked closely with me to design a QSL card that includes my call, name and QTH on the photo without detracting from the picture itself. The reverse side of the card describes the significance of the picture, but also includes all information necessary to confirm the QSO.
The design assistance was excellent, the cards were printed and shipped within a matter of days, and the price was not that much more that what I would pay for glossy stock single color cards.
The QSL cards are exactly what I had in mind, and they turned out great.
Look for me from my Ohio QTH on PSK31 or RTTY, and less frequently on SSB or CW. If we work each other, remind me that you would like a PhotoQSL.

PhotoQSL provides a great product, solid communication and fast service from start to finish. Their web site eliminates all guess work about pricing and allowed me to easily upload my photographs and place my order. Within a very short time, they emailed a pdf proof of my card. Their layout and selection of font colors was outstanding. My cards were delivered within days of approving the layout. The quality of the printing is impressive. It's great to deal with a U.S. company that provides such outstanding service and products!
