Excellant coax weather proofing
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
There are a lot of ways to weather proof your coax connections -- the new silicone tapes are one example. I used them as well as other tapes and sealants (coax-seal, etc) over the years.
I heard about this 3M commercial product on the Steppir board from a professional in the cellular industry. This is really a great product for weather proofing your coax connections. It is basically an elastic rubber tubing stretched over a removable core. The tubing collapses to form fit over the coax and connections. You can find it for about $3 per unit on eBay, etc. (or as high as $40 per unit, so it pays to shop around)
