Needs Help

Bought two of these baluns and they both failed. Returned one and decided to inspect the second failure. Center connection of coax on one end broke off at so-239, poor quality coax or accident during construction? Replacement was sent ASAP and hasn't failed so far. Will rebuild balun with some design change, good quality material besides coax failure.

Good Choice

Installed the in-line unbalanced:to unbalanced 1:1 current transformer at the feed point of my Comet all-band vertical to isolate RFI reflected into the coax feed cable and it worked fine.
The unit is constructed well and comes weather-sealed and includes a heavy-duty 3-foot coax patch cable which makes it quick to install. At it's list price of $19.95, it is worth it.
This item is well-constructed for it's reasonable price.
It's cheaper than building your own RF choke unless you already have all the parts or have access to free ones.
