Reviews Summary for DX Engineering Coaxial Cable Assemblies
DX Engineering Coaxial Cable Assemblies Reviews: 11 Average rating: 4.5/5 MSRP: $depends on length/connectors
Description: DX Engineering Premium Grade cable assemblies are built in Ohio with high quality Silver/Teflon crimp/solder connectors installed at each end. An adhesive lined shrink tubing is used to form a weather- resistant bond between the connector body and the coax. Each assembly is then 100% Hi-Pot high voltage tested to guarantee a quality cable assembly you can count on. DX Engineering brand cable is made in the USA to exacting specifications for the highest quality, longest reliable service. Both standard lengths and custom cable/connector assemblies are available from the DX Engineering web site.
Product is in production.

I ordered some RG213 cable and connectors. The
cable looks real good and reasonably priced.
Excellent service.

Excellent Cables  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I recently ordered five short cable assemblies, two of which contained N-connectors. I have no issue installing my own PL-259's but the N-connector is not on my list of great accomplishments. The cables look great, work great and are very professionally manufactured. I am very satisfied with the DX Engineering coax assemblies.

Good Guys  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Their cable assembly arrived on time. The quality was excellent, as was their follow-up support checking to see if all went well. I have no hesitation buying from them again.

Top Quality Products, Outstanding Customer Service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
On the advice of another ham, I bought an extra DXE coax cable assembly he had for use as a rotor jumper at the top of my new tower. After talking to him about the long history he had with DX Engineering and seeing the quality workmanship of the cable and connectors, I decided to order custom cable assemblies to use throughout the new tower project.

I also ordered the DXE 50 ohm coax prep toolkit for installing fresh connectors on some of my existing VHF/UHF cables. The tools work flawlessly and are built to last a lifetime. I had a small issue with the included 3rd party "precision shear side cutters" that came in the kit and notified DXE about it. DXE had a new cutter in my hands in just a few days and it wasn't even something they manufactured or had any control over.

I've asked their opinion on projects and have received prompt, unbiased replies each time. The DXE cable assemblies are top shelf and should last for many years. (I thought the 0/5 score by a previous reviewer was a bit harsh.... stuff happens....)

DX Engineering's customer support has made me a customer for life.

Outstanding Customer Service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
After writing a review on a problem I had with the coax assembly I ordered, I was contacted by DX Engineering. They overnighted me a new coax free of charge and left me feeling confident that every effort will be made to assure the problem can't occur again.

Everything else I have ever ordered from DX Engineering has always been 100% top quality and I am sure the same can be said about their Coax Assemblies.

I applaud Alex Dolgosh for a level of Customer Service and concern for quality that is rare these days.

DX Engineering Baluns - built like a tank  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have purchased a balun from DX engineering, aluminum tubing to build a 6M antenna, as well as cable assemblies. The cables were solid, the tubing worked and fit together the way it should, and the DX Engineering Balun I purchased to replace the MFJ balun that caused my antenna system to have horrible SWR levels worked great, and I am so very happy with it. It is built like a tank - the case is heavy duty - water-tight die-cast aluminum, it weighs a couple of pounds.

I also bought a Signalink USB through these guys.

Their service has always been great - fast shipping - reasonable pricing.

I consider them to be on my short list of reliable ham radio suppliers.

Fred

Unacceptable  Time owned: more than 12 months
I purchased a 105' run and as I was lowering my 80M wire dipole the coax dropped out of the connector. Upon examination I found a small drop of solder was connected to the copper braid on only 1 of 4 thru holes. The center wire only had about 1/8 of an inch solder at the tip.
Whoever put that connector on needs some serious retraining.

High Quality- at a price  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I would agree that DX Engineering cables are first class. In fact, I know of their use at a professional calibration lab just for this reason. However, they are significantly more expensive than average, albeit they are not of average quality. I recently broke down and purchased a couple at Dayton for the most critical interconnects of my shack but the cost precludes using them throughout.
