Not bad rig from the 1990s  Time owned: more than 12 months
I bought this rig for $79 from You-Do-It Electronics several years ago. It is a circa 1996 rig & really isn't bad for its time although C.T.C.S.S. encode/decode are both optional. 10 years ago this radio may have garnered a '4' rating but in 2008, it's a 3 because of the lack of tone board. Around Providence that's a problem as all but 1 repeater requires a tone. However, if you're just using it for simplex, it's fine.
Xmit: 430-450MHz, rcv.: 400-469.995MHz
