One of the best  Time owned: more than 12 months
My "love affair" with the 1104c goes back years when they were first launched by Astatic. It's a solidly built mic with a die-cast base and plastic top and neck. The quality of the output is excellent and can easily matched to any transceiver. There is the internal gain adjustment that has been factory set but most likely adjusted by someone these days. External gain and tone controls that can be adjusted to match any operating condition. The element in the head producing a very natural sound.

I sold the ones I had years ago but just recently pick one up from the "bay" to mount on my 101ZD MKIII. So far the audio reports have been excellent as I expected. They are getting harder to find these days, I feel people don't want to give them up, but they are worth the effort. FYI if your looking for a handheld version look at the Astatic 575-M6, same electronics as the desktop 1104c but in a nice tear drop hand mike (still own two of these).

GREAT ON FT-1000D  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Brand new Astatic 1104-C wired to my FT-1000D and it sounds great! This mic is a rare find today, no longer in production. You can adjust gain, internally and externally as well as the tone of the audio output. Great microphone.

Just Perfect  Time owned: more than 12 months
What an incredible sounding microphone. I have friends that spent hundreds of dollars on mic's, and nothing has come close to the sound of this particular microphone. It has a very distinct sound that no other can match.

Awsome  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have used just about every mobile and desk mic out there. You simply cant beat the audio quality of this item. The internal variable gain control helps one match it to any rig. The VERY nice external tone control lets you adjust it to the tone of your voice. Hands done the best desk mic avaiL next to the D104 M6 HAND MIC.
