Fine Royal Air Force straight key of WW2 vintage.  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I recently acquired this key and am very impressed. It is one of several variations manufactured by the British during the WW2 period. Mine is stamped on the rear with the date of 1940.

There were a number of variations of this RAF key manufactured during the war. This one is the matallic version. I believe the metal is steel as is not at all corroded. It is a mid size key, fully and easily adjustable. The action is comfortable and not tiring. I mounted it on a block of wood for balance as it needs a larger base to function correctly.

There are sites on the internet with photographs of this key.

I have a hard plastic version of this key which is also comfortable to use.

They occasionally turn up on the internet for-sale sites. I highly recommend both.
