Nice Balun  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I ordered a 6:1 Current Balun from Balun Designs. Bob the owner was very helpful. The shipping time was short. This balun is a good quality product and dose a nice job of matching 300 Ohm twin lead to 50 Ohm coax.

Excellent Balun  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought one of these about a month ago, and I'm using it with an 80M OCF Dipole. My installation site isn't perfect to say the least, But I put it up anyway, because I need some form of wire antenna to go with my Vertical in the backyard. I initially had problems with my antenna in it's installed site, so I took the whole shot to a local park and set it up in the clear.
The results were very good there, With SWR below 2.0: 1 on all the bands its designed for.
I brought the antenna back and I set it up yesterday and with a slight tweak to the the length of the elements and another adjustment to the position of the short side of the dipole, I now have a very good match to my equipment in the shack here.
Using the antenna is great, my first contact was MM0AOQ (Scotland) using about 75 watts. Other barefoot contacts to Europe and South America were made, and I also made some QRO calls as well.
The balun is well built and the price was right about $105 shipped here. I purchased it on Ebay, from Bob's Store there named "rapidrobert". I recieved the Balun in about a week from the order and it was packed very nicely. Instructions were included and Bob does reply to questions via email promptly.
I didn't like the terminals supplied with it though, maybe "hook" type terminals would be better than the modified "ring" terminals he sent along, but no big deal to me.
Bob, Thanks for a great product.
73,
Bill K9WJL
