A-1 craftsmanship

Got the backing plate/SO-239 connector/"flat top" swivel ball mount to use with a High Sierra 1800 screwdriver on my '08 Tundra. Asked him if I could get a slightly larger diameter backing plate than the stock unit--"no problem". Received within a week (coast-to-coast). Solidly made items with excellent fit. Came with hints on how to mount the backing plate to the vehicle skin, as well as a few extra pieces of hardware to aid the process (a nice touch).
The mount holds the HS1800 with no problems, no vibration, highway speeds not a problem. A ball mount like this significantly eases the main challenge of any HF mobile installation--establishing a solid ground connection to the vehicle. It's all "automatic" through the backing plate. And the SO-239 connector on offer is just as solid and really convenient.
On top of that, the pricing and service are excellent. Jerry answered all my follow-on questions quickly and professionally.
You won't be disappointed!

Wow, VERY STRONG

I called Jerry on a Monday around 4pm and ordered is Pedestal Mount, Backing Plates and Coaxial Connector. After ordering the mounts I called one or two more times with a few more questions. Every time I called Jerry he was happy to answer my questions and very polite. My package was delivered to my house on Wednesday Morning Via Priority Mail.
I own a Chevy Impala and my plans were to put my Tarheel Model 75 on my trunk. I drilled everything through the trunk and wow. The antenna doesn't move or shake!! When I close my trunk from being opening the antenna doesn't even shack only the 6' whip. The true test was today 3/30/2009. Current temp in Rochester today is 30 degrees with winds out of the north at 30mph gusting to 50mph. I took my car down RT490 and got the car up to 85Mph and the antenna wasn't shacking at all. The antenna wasn’t moving what so ever.
Jerry tells you when you buy his mounts the mount will not break. The mounts are so strong it will rip your cars metal before it breaks the mount. After my test today I believe him. This mount isn't going anywhere. Any one who would like to see pics email me at my call-sign at yahoo.com.
Thank you Jerry, I am one very happy customer!!!

SOLID AS A ROCK!!

I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT WITH HANK AT HIS SHOP IN GASTONIA, NC. I NEEDED A STRONGER MOUNT FOR MY TARHEEL M40 ANTENNA AS I RUN HI-POWER MOBILE. THE MOUNT I WAS USING WORKED FAVORABLE BUT JUST WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARD. I BOUGHT HIS BACKING PLATES($40) AND THE PEDESTAL MOUNT($20). HANK ASSISTED ME IN REMOVING MY PREVIOUS SETUP AND INSTALLING HIS PRODUCT. THE PROCEDURE TOOK US ABOUT 1&1/2HR. MOMENT OF TRUTH, STATIONARY CHECK - GOOD TO GO. HIGH SPEED CHECK - SAME AS STATIONARY. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE QUALITY OF MR BREEDLOVE'S PRODUCTS. EVERY SINGLE PIECE YOU GET IS HAND MADE. YOU JUST CAN'T GET ANYMORE PRECISE THAN THAT. I MUST PUBLICLY THANK HANK FOR ASSISTING. HE IS RECOVERING FROM A RECENT STROKE EPISODE AND VISIBLY TIRED, HE NEVER TOOK A BREAK FROM HELPING UNTIL MY MOBILE WAS SQUARED AWAY. WHENEVER YOU HEAR MY MOBILE SIGNAL SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 10M & 40 METERS, REST ASSURED HANK BREEDLOVE MOUNTS IS THE PLATFORM FROM WHICH THE SIGNAL IS GENERATED. THIS MOUNT IS SO STRONG THAT WHEN I CLOSE MY TRUNK THE ANTENNA DOES NOT WOBBLE, NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY. SEMPER FI HANK.

I agree with the others below. For the price, a nice, well made product. I was impressed with the so-239 I purchased. Nicely made and very strong. Placed the order and received the mount in around 3 days. Highly recommended.

Learned about these mounts from K0BG website.
Don't take any chances with those wanna be
mounts. Why trust your new $ 300 + antenna to
that imported junk ?
These mounts and the matched plate set are the real deal,
given the thinner gage sheet metal used in cars today,
you need this mount or your antenna will be history.
It will outlast any vehicle you bolt it on.

The only way to go!

There is not much to say other than if you're looking to mount an HF mobile antenna, this is the way to go!!! Made strong, and to last.
I researched many types of mounts for a heavy HiQ4/80 screwdriver to be mounted off my pickup rail. I choose this, after asking several questions of Jerry, and always being greeted with a willingness to help a fellow ham.
Let me say this though: I have the over the rail mount, and it does not hang out far enough from the rail in that with the coax adapter mounted the Pl-259 damaged the Chevy fender. I will be now ordering the raised mount that sits off the rail and not over the side. Measure better than I did if you order the over the side mount.
My HiQ flexes the mount a little, but is secure with his quick disconnect. No worries.

A-One stuff!

I have been using their quick disconnects for several years. Unlike some of their competition, these don't come loose with use, and they make positive contact every time.
I've also used their ballmounts with great success. I've never had any problems with any of their mounts, but when I call I always get Jerry which gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.
